Sometimes Christmas presentsAre last-minute things—We rush to just buy something—Hope for joy it brings.Sometimes gifts are well thought outAnd studied with care,But executed hurriedlyWe hope the idea’s fair.Sometimes our grand designsAre thwarted in some way:The store’s sold out, it’s discontinued—It costs how much? No way! But God’s Christmas PresentWas no last-minute mad dash.He did not scramble… Continue reading The Appointment of Christmas
The first present of ChristmasWas not wrapped with bright paper,Shiny ribbons, sparkling bows,Or ties with ends that taper. The first present of ChristmasWas not large in any way,No impressive size,And not containing much to weigh. The first present of ChristmasDid not rattle, shake, or thump,Jingle, crinkle, ring, or beep,Or turn on with a bump. The first present of… Continue reading The First Present of Christmas

Thanks to your support of my book, Learning to Love: A Collection of Poetry and 40 Daily Devotions, you also helped feed the hungry, clothe the poor, and support families during financial crisis through Inside-Out Ministries.
Because of your support, you have given Christmas to children in poverty and high-risk situations who would otherwise have no Christmas gifts this year!
Today, I’d like to spotlight a ministry local to my area: the Huntsville Pregnancy Resource Center. This organization offers free pregnancy testing and ultrasounds as well as pregnancy support, parenting classes, free baby supplies for attending classes, information about abortions, adoption options, and post-abortion counseling. Through their love and support of women who may be facing unexpected pregnancies, they share the “Truth of Life” no matter what decision parents make. They not only have programs and resources for expectant mothers, but fathers as well, offering classes and counseling. They “bring awareness, raise support, and unite our community for life” (huntsvilleprc.org).
Thank you, God, for this day. Please bless it to Your name, I pray. Please bless my mind and bless my eyes That I may learn and become wise. Please bless my heart, that I obey, So I can learn a lot today.
There’s a fire, fire fire, There’s a fire in my heart today. It’s gonna burn, burn, burn, It’s gonna burn all the trash away. They’ll be a pile, pile, pile, A big old pile I’m pulling out. You’ll see it burn, burn, burn, See it burning all about.
Thank you so much for following along with me and subscribing. You have been a big part of this journey since I restarted my blog this year. I am happy to announce my first book, Learning to Love: a Collection of Poetry and 40 Daily Devotions...
