A New Song

by Sara DuVall

Come and sing God a new song.
Come worship! Come join the throng.
Let’s dance like David in the street
And touch the lives of all we meet.
Come, let us climb the mountain peak
To shout His name. Come mild and meek!
Come, let our voices loud be raised
So that His holy name be praised.
Come! Across the land we spread
Sweet melody, spiritual bread.
O that our lives may thus be used
With inspired music to be fused,
That we may in this very day
Bring tunes of praise to ever stay!
May this sound be spread wide, spread far
Such as to wake the fainted star.
Come, people! Listen, understand,
For this will be a redeemed land.
My inmost soul groans, has espied
That His name must be glorified.

  1. This touched me a lot. In particular, these lines got to me, “Come, let us climb the mountain peak
To shout His name. Come mild and meek!”

    God bless.
