As true as man cannot live seeing God,1
As true as He is Spirit and unseen,2
As true as He is holy, He is clean,
As true as man cannot touch Him, nor plod
Before His presence so sinfully shod,
So you demonstrated at Sinai’s scene,
As all of Israel trembled and awed.3
Your thunderous fiery cloud, so dark and broad,
Repelled and tested any unclean thing.
But when Jesus reconciles God and man
By coming to man, man not reaching Him,
God gives us peace and bids we come and look
And touch His feet and reach out for His hand.4
He dines with us, once knocking, enters in,5
And shines His light, redeeming what sin took.6

- John 1:5
And you said, ‘Behold, the Lord our God has shown us his glory and greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire. This day we have seen God speak with man, and man still live.
Deuteronomy 5:24
Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
